Iran, Israel trade missiles; blasts, air raid sirens rock Tehran, Tel Aviv Sirens blared across Israel and Jerusalem as Iran fired another missile barrage. The projectiles had direct hits in Petah Tikva and Tel Aviv where there was substantial damage to residential buildings. Explosions and air raid sirens are being heard again in Iran and Israel as the two nations continue to exchange missiles and drones, a day after the Israeli military killed top Iranian generals and nuclear scientists in the worst such escalation in decades. Iranβs retaliatory strikes have killed at least four people and wounded more than 200 others in Israel since Friday, as a barrage of dozens of Iranian missiles lit up the skies over Jerusalem and Tel Aviv overnight. On the Iranian side, at least 80 people, including women and children, have been killed and more than 320 others injured, as the Israeli army targeted residential areas in capital Tehran, military sites and nuclear facilities, killing at least nine nuclear scientists so far. Accusing Israel of initiating a war, Iranβs Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said it βmust expect severe punishmentβ for killing several top-level military commanders and scientists. In a message on state TV, he said Israel βshould not think that it is over because they attacked and it is finishedβ. βNo. They started this and initiated the war. We wonβt allow them to escape unscathed from this great crime they have committed,β Khamenei said. Following decades of enmity and conflict by proxy, it is the first time that Israel and Iran have traded fire with such intensity, with fears of a prolonged conflict engulfing the region. Israelβs Defence Minister Israel Katz warned on Saturday that βTehran will burnβ and its residents will pay dearly if Iran continues its missile strikes against Israeli civilians. βThe Iranian dictator is turning the citizens of Iran into hostages and bringing about a reality in which they β especially the residents of Tehran β will pay a heavy price because of the criminal harm to Israeli civilians,β said Katz. βIf Khamenei continues to fire missiles towards the Israeli home front, Tehran will burn,β the minister added. On Saturday, two projectiles hit Tehranβs Mehrabad airport which hosts an air force base with fighter jets and transport aircraft, and is located close to key Iranian government buildings.

A military parade marking the 250th anniversary of the US Army rolled down the streets of Washington on the same day as President Trump's 79th birthday as protestors marched, chanting 'no kings' Tanks and other armoured military vehicles rumbled down the streets of Washington, DC, on Saturday, in what Trump had teased as an βunforgettableβ event and critics had called a pricey tribute to the βegoist-in-chiefβ. Speaking after the hour-long procession, which cut through a balmy evening dotted with raindrops, Trump framed the spectacle as a long time coming. βEvery other country celebrates their victories. Itβs about time America did, too,β he told the crowd, which sprawled sparsely across the National Mall. βThatβs what weβre doing tonight,β he said. Vice President JD Vance, who introduced the president at the end of the parade, was the only official to acknowledge the dual birthdays. βJune 14th is, of course, the birthday of the army. It is, of course, the birthday of the president of the United States,β he said. βHappy birthday, Mr President.β For critics, the overlapping dates sent a disconcerting message. Away from the celebrations, among about 100 protesters at Logan Circle in Washington, DC, Terry Mahoney, a 55-year-old Marine veteran, described the parade as βdictator behaviourβ. βIf you take everything else heβs done, stomping on the US Constitution, this parade may just be window dressing,β he told Al Jazeera.

Indian Army shows debris of Pakistan-launched missiles that were intercepted and taken down by Indian Air Defence systems Amritsar, #Punjab : Major General Kartik C Seshadri, GOC, 15 Infantry Division says "Indian Army is a professional, righteous and responsible force which in spite of grave provocations, has always responded in a calibrated and measured manner. We target only terrorists in known terrorist camps with precision weapons, ensuring that there is no collateral damage, a fact which even Pakistan Army has admitted during operations. However. Pakistan Army has no legitimate targets to strike inside India, nor does it have the courage or capability to stand up to Indian Armed Forces face-to-face. Hence, it uses terrorism as a national policy and resorts to unmanned aerial weapons launched from its own soil. Drones and long-range missiles were launched and fired from its own territory. Indian military installations, civilian population centers, including innocent ladies and children were also not spared and were considered as legitimate targets by the Pakistan military. They have even targeted religious places, specifically a case in point being the Golden Temple located in Amritsar, which is internationally renowned and a place of faith for everybody. It saw a surfeit of drone and missile attacks, which were thwarted bravely by our Army air defence gunners. The Indian Armed Forces and Army Air Defence gunners will continue to defeat all its designs and thwart all aerial threats." A soldier of the Indian Army says "At this time, we are a part of Operation Sindoor...On the night of 8-9 May, they suddenly fired on us and tried to infiltrate. We fired accurately at the enemy and foiled their infiltration attempt. The result of our firing was that by the morning, the enemy came on their knees and hoisted a white flag on their post. We assure our countrymen that as long as the Indian Army is deployed on the borders of the country, no one can raise their eyes towards this country..." Soldiers of the Panther Division of Indian Army say "...We are representatives of the panther...We will enter and kill the enemy from within, now we don't fear anyone. There is revenge in the mind, there is passion in the heart and pride in the eyes. To uproot terrorism, India has launched Operation Sindoor." Indian Army shows a demo of how Indian Air Defence systems, including AKASH missile system, L-70 Air Defence Guns, saved the Golden Temple in Amritsar and cities of Punjab from Pakistani missile and drone attacks.
